Refund and Billing Policy
Version 2.2 · Last updated 2026-08-23
This policy covers what you pay Ebni for your subscription. It does not cover what your own customers pay you — that is §6.
1. How billing works
Plans are paid in advance for the period shown before you pay. We price each plan separately in each currency we support and show you the price in your currency; we never convert between currencies.
Nothing renews by itself. We do not store your card and we charge nothing automatically — whichever way you pay, by card, bank transfer, InstaPay or a wallet, we remind you before the period ends and you choose to pay again.
2. VAT
Where VAT applies, it is calculated on the amount you actually pay — after any discount, after any part-period adjustment and after any account credit has come off. Credit on your account is held free of VAT for exactly this reason: spending it is taxed the same way a fresh purchase of that amount would be, so no tax is charged twice and none is refunded to you that was never paid.
3. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that your site stops being served until you subscribe again — there is no free plan to fall back to. Cancelling is not a refund — the period you are in is not paid back, and nothing of yours is deleted.
4. When we will refund a subscription payment
- Monthly plans: not refundable. Cancel and you keep the rest of the period.
- Annual plans: if you ask within seven days of paying, we will refund that payment.
- If we got it wrong: if you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount we cannot substantiate, we fix it — outside any time limit.
5. How a refund is actually paid back
Be aware of how this works, because it is not instant. A refund is issued by a person, not by a button. We record it against your invoice as a credit note, and then pay the money back by hand to the account you paid from. Nothing in Ebni moves money out of the platform automatically, and that is deliberate.
Where you would rather have the value on your account than money back, we can put it there as credit instead. Credit is spendable on Ebni invoices only: it is never cash, it cannot be withdrawn, it cannot be transferred, and it is held per currency and never converted. Every movement in it is listed in your billing screen with the reason and the balance after it. Choosing credit is your choice, never ours.
6. What your own customers pay you
Refunds for products your visitors buy through your Ebni store are yours, under your own store policy. The money went to your payment account, not ours. Ebni cannot refund your shopper for you — the refund runs on your own stored payment credentials and refuses outright without them. Set them up in your store settings before you need them.
7. Things we do not refund
- Monthly subscription payments.
- Annual payments once seven days have passed.
- Money already paid to somebody else on your behalf — a domain registration is the usual case, because the registrar has been paid and will not give it back.
- Accounts we ended for a breach of the Terms.
8. Cooling-off and statutory rights — not yet settled
The seven days above is our own commercial policy, not a statement of your rights under Egyptian law. We have not yet had this page reviewed against Egyptian consumer-protection law, and if that law gives you a longer or stronger right than this policy, that law wins. This section will be completed after review by an Egyptian lawyer.
9. VAT treatment of credit — not yet settled
§2 describes how our system calculates VAT. Whether holding and later spending credit is the correct VAT treatment under Egyptian tax law has not yet been confirmed by a tax adviser, and we would rather say so than imply a ruling we do not have.
10. How to ask
Email [email protected] from your account’s email address with your invoice reference. Tell us whether you want the money back or credit on your account.
