Cookie Policy

This policy explains what Ebni, operated by Envision Dev, stores in your browser and why. It covers both ebni.app and the sites merchants publish with Ebni.

1. Cookies we set

Ebni uses a small number of cookies, and all of them are necessary for the service to work.

• Sign-in session — keeps you signed in to your dashboard. Cleared when you sign out.
• Language — remembers whether you are using Ebni in Arabic or English.
• Store visitor session — on a merchant’s store, keeps your basket and account session attached to you while you shop.
• Display currency — remembers the currency prices are shown in.
• Protected page access — set only when you unlock a password-protected page, so you do not have to re-enter the password on every visit.
• Two-factor sign-in — set only while you are part-way through signing in with two-factor authentication, so the code can only be completed in the browser that started the sign-in. It holds a random value, lasts a few minutes, and is deleted as soon as you are signed in.
• Terms acceptance during sign-up with Google — set only if you tick the terms box on the sign-up page and then choose “Continue with Google”. We record that you accepted before we know your email address, so this holds a random reference to that record until Google tells us who you are. It contains no personal information, lasts fifteen minutes, and is never set when you sign in to an account you already have.

2. What we keep in browser storage instead of cookies

Several things people expect to be cookies are not. They are kept in your browser’s own local or session storage, are never sent to our servers with your requests, and are removed when you clear your browser data.

• Your basket, wishlist and product comparison list.
• Interface preferences: dark mode, and whether the sidebar is collapsed.
• A device identifier used to show you your own active sessions so you can sign them out.
• Your answer to the cookie banner.

3. Analytics

Our own site analytics do not use cookies and do not track individuals across sites. The visitor identifier they use is held in session storage, so it is discarded when you close the tab, and it is not linked to your identity.

4. Why there is no cookie banner

Because every cookie listed above is necessary for the service to work, there is nothing for a consent banner to switch off. We removed ours rather than show a choice that changed nothing. If we ever add a cookie that is not necessary — analytics or advertising — we will ask first, and the choice will genuinely control it.

5. Third parties

We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Payments are completed on our payment provider’s own pages, which set their own cookies under their own policies. Media and fonts are served through our content delivery provider, which may set a cookie of its own to tell automated traffic from people.

6. Cookies on merchant sites

When you visit a site built with Ebni, the cookies above are the ones the platform sets. If a merchant adds their own third-party tools to their site, those tools set their own cookies and the merchant is responsible for them.

7. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the sign-in session cookie will stop you being able to sign in, and blocking the store session cookie will empty your basket between pages, because those cookies are what carry that state.
